Amazing Way to do Stoichiometry

Marie found this online and showed it to everyone and I just figured I would spread the news. The method is called the Magic Number Method and it is a great way to check your work since the process is twice as fast as doing Stoichiometry the regular way. Absolutely brilliant!!

  1. I used the same videos to help me study. I found that they really simplified the analysis of converting one amount of a substance to figure out how much you will get of the other. It really saves time and I think that time is going to be essential on the unit test.

  2. Wow. This is really fast! I am reluctant to use it on the test tomorrow though because I probably wouldn't feel too confident on it. These videos explain it really well, but I had to rewatch some of them to actually grasp the concept. Good videos!

  3. I absolutely love the magic number theory! I am scared to use it on test or quizzes because its not what Mrs. Frankenburg taught us. I prefer using it to double check problems in a quicker fashion. Thanks for showing me this amazing method! I'll be sure to spread this on me blog!

  4. I am so glad that Marie found this method and that you shared it on your blog. Watching these again reminded me how much quicker it is than the method we learned in class. However, I agree with Cadence because this is not what Mrs. Frankenburg taught us in class, so I am somewhat apprehensive.

  5. I think this is a good method to use but because I have been using the way we have been learning in class I feel like if I switch over to this method it may mix me up during the test. I agree with Gillian that although this is a good concept I do not feel confident in my ability to use it on tomorrows test.

  6. I am a little stand offish to this method, just due to the fact that it is different than what Mrs. Frankenburg taught us. However, it is really nice to see a different way of solving the problems! I suppose it doesn't matter how you get the answers as long as you get them and they're correct. Thanks Marie and Hamming.
